From July 25 to 26, the 2026 Belt and Road Language, Education, and Culture Forum and the International Conference on English Language Teaching in China were held at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Aimé Fabrice Tresor (Chinese name: Zhao Chun), a Rwandan doctoral student from our university, was invited to attend the forum. As the sole youth representative in his session, he delivered a speech sharing innovative practices in Rwandan local culture, offering a youth perspective on how language education can contribute to the shared well-being of humanity, and participating in the closing ceremony exchanges, demonstrating the international outlook and comprehensive competence of our international students.

In his speech, he further noted that as a doctoral student at the beginning of his academic journey, the three-day participation left him most deeply moved not by the technology itself, but by the human warmth in the discussions, the wisdom generously shared by experts, and the enthusiasm for learning that filled every session. He expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee and all participating educators for embracing a young scholar with open minds, which not only broadened his academic horizons but also brought him into a global network of mentors. He stated that he would carry this valuable sense of connection and purpose back to Jiangxi Normal University to continue his doctoral studies, and promised to pass on what he had learned to his future students, firmly believing that even in the age of artificial intelligence, language education remains a deeply humanistic endeavor with a civilizational mission.

The forum was organized by the Belt and Road Language, Education, and Culture Organizations Alliance, under the theme Mutual Learning Among Civilizations, Youth in Partnership, Building a New Future for the 'Belt and Road'. It brought together experts from five continents and frontline teachers to explore the enduring values and innovative pathways of language education. The concurrent conference, themed Humanistic Re-envisioning and Civilizational Mission of Foreign Language Education in the Age of AI, featured 8 keynote addresses and 30 parallel sessions, attracting participants from over 20 countries. This year marked the inaugural LEADER'S TALK session. The participation serves as both a recognition of the quality of our university's international student education and a source of inspiration for our international education efforts. The university will continue to build dialogue platforms for Chinese and international students, enhance the quality and efficiency of international education programs, and support cross-cultural exchange and international educational cooperation.
