Under the lead of Julia, a Chinese teacher at Confucius Institute at Antananarivo University, 20 young students from Madagascar came to our school to attend the winter camp themed Perception of China, Studying Tour of Gan and Po .

During the Winter Camp, our school elaborately arranged a series of Chinese cultural courses, such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting art, martial taichi, Chinese ritual and music, Chinese dance and so on. Students got more involved in communities and participated in the International Kite Festival held in Nanchang. They walked into the Hongyadan well, put on traditional Han Chinese clothing, learned to cast pots, shoot art and hand-made grass dyeing, and came to the Barrow Hill to visit “the Great Wall” of southern China. So they really experienced a fancy Chinese-style journey.

On the eve of graduation, winter camp students participated in One Belt One Road One family Festival of International Students organized by the school. At the party, which was full of Chinese elements, international students got together, showing what they learned from class and what they knew except the class learning, dancing and singing together, which showed a warm, peaceful and cheerful scene of the extended family of international students.

During their stay in Shanghai, they climbed the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and walked along the Bund to feel the rapidly developing first-tier Chinese cities’ speed.

“I’ve seen beautiful Chinese mountains and rivers, also experienced different customs and cultural differences during this short but happy study tour, which strengthened my determination to learn Chinese actively.” said Fang Xiaoli.
