The opening ceremony of 2018 academic year was held in the morning of September 26^th at zhengda square of JXNU. More than 150 international freshmen from 41 countries, including Madagascar, Bangladesh and Palestine attended the opening ceremony.

Accompanied by the magnificent national anthem, the bright five-star red flag was rising, the whole 10,000 teachers and students were singing the national anthem, the passionate songs echoed through the square . The Principal GuoPing Mei  warmly welcomed more than 7000 undergraduate students from all over the country, more than 2200 graduate students, and more than 150 students from overseas. He also exposed problems at University based in students’life in a speech at the ceremony .He then gave some advice on how to "learn knowledge, cultivate ability, and build character" for all new first level students. These are the three most basic and important things in students’life.
