Our University's International Students Embarked on A Chinese Culture Experience Event at the Confucius Classroom in Anfu County

To help international students in China gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture, experience the achievements of rural revitalization and agricultural and rural modernization firsthand, and share the stories of China, our university organized a Chinese culture experience event for 50 international students from five countries to visit Anfu County on November 8-9.

At the Confucius Temple in Anfu County, the international students listened intently as the guide introduced the origin of the temple, delving into the traditional Chinese culture of Confucius Temple sacrifices, Confucian rituals, and more. They also learned about the legendary life of Confucius and the tremendous impact of the Confucianism he founded on China. At the Confucius Classroom in Anfu County, the international students interacted closely with elementary school students dressed in Hanfu, learning to play the zither, paper-cutting, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese painting. Representatives of the international students also delivered a unique cultural lecture for the elementary school students, introducing them to the exotic customs of Russia, Mexico, and Madagascar. Following this, Chinese and foreign students interacted through speeches, songs and dances, tai chi, and other forms, creating a lively atmosphere.

In Shulou Village, Yangshimu Town, the international students visited the Literature Archway of the Late Qing Dynasty and the Museum of Guerrilla Warfare on the Hunan-Jiangxi Border, gaining insights into the history of the late Qing Dynasty, Soviet Areas, and the three-year guerrilla warfare on the Hunan-Jiangxi border. At the Wugong Mountain in Anfu, the international students ascended to the Golden Summit to admire the autumn scenery of Jiangxi and Poyang Lake. Wang Jianjun, an international student from Mexico, excitedly said, By comparing the evolution of the character 'stone' that I learned in my 'Chinese Characters' class with the rocks I saw by the cliff, I understood how ancient Chinese people observed the world and created Chinese characters.
